Irrigation Components International is pleased to announce the release of a revolutionary new lubricant for center pivot gear boxes. The new product is known as SPRINKLER LUBE 1200.
Sprinkler Lube 1200 is classified as a “thixotropic lubricant”. Thixotropy is a property that allows a substance to change from a thick gel-like state into a fluid where there is movement. The lube remains thick where there is no movement. Thixotropic properties have a good flow back and heat transfer around bearings and gears, while remaining thicker at the outer areas of the gear box to help with sealing (keeping water out and the lubricant in)! Sprinkler Lube 1200 “encapsulates” all the bearings, seals, and gears. This will prevent corrosion on the inside of the gear box. By keeping moisture out of the gear box, you will not have the messy annual maintenance required with standard SAE 84-140GL5 gear oil.
Sprinkler Lube 1200 will help you avoid costly repairs to your gear boxes due to seal leaks. The thicker, gel-like consistency makes it less likely to leak from the gear box. In testing by a major center pivot manufacturer, we have found the anti-wear and pressure additives in this product protect the gear boxes and help to enhance their load and endurance capabilities.
The GL5 rating meets all of the gear box manufacturers warranty requirements. Sprinkler Lube 1200 is available in 3 convenient containers. It comes in a 35 lb Pail (15.9 Kg) which is enough for approximately 5 wheel gearboxes. Next there is the 120 lb. Keg (54.6 Kg) which will service approximately 17 wheel gear boxes. Finally, there is the 400 lb. Drum (181.8 Kg). The drum will service approximately 57 wheel gear boxes.
