Subject: Copper Grounding Plates for Enhanced Voltage Surge Protection
Protecting Center Pivot controls, controllers, buried cables, submersible pumps against voltage surges has been an ongoing issue for farmers and dealers for years. Conventional grounding on most irrigation installations has utilized a 5/8 copper rod driven into the ground. This grounding technique is at best
basic!
We are introducing the Paige Grounding Plate as a much superior way to protect your expensive irrigation equipment, submersible pumps and buried cable.
The grounding plate is made of copper. It is 4 wide and 96 long. A bare copper ground wire is welded to the ground plate. The plate is installed in a trench approximately 6 wide, 8.5 long and 3 deep. Then a special conductive backfill material is mixed in a wheel barrow. The conductive mixture is then spread evenly over the grounding plate. The Ground Plate technology has been used in other industries for many years.
ICII is now offering the Paige Grounding Plate as a much better defense against lightning strikes. The superior design of the plate and the conductive backfill improves the effectiveness of the ground. It permanently reduces resistance to ground regardless to soil conditions. The Ground Plate can be easily installed on existing irrigation installations!
Please feel free to call our office about our Grounding Plates. We have posters and other sales material available.
